I listen to Power metal all the time, along with Symphonic and Progressive metal. My favorite bands: DragonForce, Gamma Ray, Ayreon, Kamelot (the only american band I listen to) and Nightwish.
I also listen to Rush and The Darkness, the only non-metal bands I like. Other than that, I don't listen to anything else.

I listen to a lot of instrumental music, like old classical stuff and modern soundtracks. It's a habit I picked up when I first started writing regularly. As for actual bands, I like the Decemberists and the Fratellis.

I like rapcore bands such as Limp Bizkit, KoRn, 311, and Rage Agaisnt the Machine. Industrial bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Filter, and Black Light Burns. And Hip Hop like Redman, Wu-Tang Clan, 2pac, and Everlast.
